Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
We know the peptide is a protein. How does this peptide, as a protein, work or interact with ghrelin (hormone)?
Answer from Dr. Won: Based on our peptide-protein interaction profiling, no heat was observed between the peptide with any hormones. ‘Heat’ means a score based quantification method to determine affinity of a peptide and any proteins present in our cells. With our peptide, the greatest score was determined with Aldo-C and all the values for hormones were ‘0’. Among the charts above, data is displayed showing that the amount of food consumption/mouse/day was not changed upon the administration of the peptide, indicating that the peptide does not affect appetite. This is the distinctive feature of our peptide from other mechanisms, which are mostly focused on controlling appetite.
